Kotebetta the 3rd highest peak in Coorg after Tadiyandamol and Brahmagiri, stands tall at around 5400 ft. Kote Betta is about 25 km from Little Jungle, and is located in Madapur, which is in between Somwarpet and Madikeri. The trek to the top of Kote Betta is around 10 kilometers from the base. There is a Shiva temple on the mountaintop that offers a breathtaking and serene view. Kote Betta means Fort Hill and offers an awesome place to trek.
This monastery is inhabited by Tibetan monks and is situated in the town of Kushalnagara, just 20 km away from Little Jungle Resort. Tibetans have always kept their culture and heritage intact, and tourists can witness Tibetan’s way of life, rich culture, architecture, savor their dishes, and also Tibetan handicrafts are available.
This man-made island is sensational, has lush greenery, and boasts an area of 65 acres. The Karnataka Forest Department maintains this wonderful picnic spot, on the banks of the Cauvery, near Kushalnagara, which is the perfect place to relax with exciting activities. The hanging bridge, pedal boat center, treetop shelters, elephant safari, and deer park are the main attractions of Cauvery Nisarga Dhama. It is situated at a distance of 2km from Kushalnagara on the Mysore-Madikeri Road.
The Dubare Elephant Camp is a must-experience for the elephant lover in you. It is located just 20 minutes away from Kushalnagara. Karnataka’s history with elephants, goes a long way back, and currently, the state’s Forest Department is maintaining this wonder home for around 25 elephants in the camp, along with a couple of naughty baby elephants. Tourists can learn more about elephants and even spend a little extra time with them by giving them a bath. The entrance is set up on the banks of the Cauvery. You can choose from a variety of adventure activities, such as boating, river rafting, elephant rides, horse rides, and many more.
Mallalli Falls is situated in the foothills of the Pushpagiri Hills. It is one of the most beautiful water falls in Coorg, which is about 24 km away from Little Jungle. The water plunging from a height of 120 feet . is an eye-catching sight of the river Kumaradhara gushing through the valley and falling into a gorge, with lush green mountains around.
The Harangi Dam is located near Hudgur village. Kushalnagara Taluk is about 9 km from the heart of Kushalnagara town. The masonry dam is built across the river Harangi, a tributary of the Kaveri. It houses an elephant camp on 40 acres and offers various activities.
Mandalpatti is one of the best tourist spots in Coorg. Mandalpatti Hills is located around 35 km from Little Jungle Resort and lies between Somwarpet & Madikeri. Once on the top of the hills, the beauty of Mandalpatti is unwrapped. Far-stretching green mountains and the cool breeze will definitely make one feel like heaven.
Pushpagiri Hill (5,626 ft.) is approximately 30 km from Little Jungle Resort. The summit commands an extensive view of the Pushpagiri mountains, which is surrounded by Biseli and Kumaradhara trekking zones. It is the most sort after place for trekkers and nature lovers. There is also a temple of Lord Shiva on the top of the hill.
Bhagamandala is on the banks of the confluence of three rivers, Cauvery, Kannike, and the subterranean Sujyoti, popularly known as “Triveni Sangama.”. The famous Sri Bhagandeswara temple is located here. A large number of tourists visit Bhagamandala from all over India.
Chelvara Falls is near Cheyyandane which is around 60 kms. Chelvara Falls is also called Embepare by the locals, meaning Tortoise Rock. The water fall is really a wonderfull view as the water gushes from the top amidst the green coffee plantation.
